Today we prepared for the new school year with a PD on Explicit Instruction. After developing my understanding of warm ups through reading and professional conversations in 2014, I felt comfortable to share my classroom experiences to the whole college.
Today this video was shown to staff, before a brainstorm session in each subject area, to develop new warm ups.
This video represents a typical vocab-driven warm up, as well as engaging game we often play in HASS subjects to recall previous knowledge. The teacher shown in the second video is my pre-service teacher from 2014, Kirsty Storrie.
