This year I have worked closely with a student who moved to Adelaide from the Democratic Republic of Congo in late 2013. This student was identified early as having significant learning needs. However, she had no written NEP (Negotiated Education Plan) so her level of funding for support was initially zero.

After liasing with our Special Education Officer, we got this student some limited SSO (Student Support Officer) support for literacy and numeracy. From here, we endeavoured apply for an Intensive Level of Support for Intensive Personalised Curriculum, whioch requires a significant amount of evidence.

I developed a range teaching programs, with collaboration from Early Years teachers at the school, that support the participation and learning of this student.

I created a portfolio of strategies and learning from the student, as evidence of her need for support.
